Gateway Singles - Service - Helping Hand Home

RSVP for next event

Helping Hand Home is a residential treatment center for children who have been severely abused and removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. On the 2nd Saturday morning of each month at 10:30, Gateway Singles get together to do various service projects to support the home (typically including bike maintenance), and then go for brunch afterwards. No equipment or experience is necessary - just dress for comfort! Please RSVP to Martin Ortiz to let him know you are coming each month so that we can plan projects according to the number of volunteers.

Where: 3804 Avenue B at the corner of 38th and Avenue B, just off of Guadalupe
Date: 2nd Saturday of each month
Time: Serving at 10:30 AM for about an hour followed by optional lunch at a place TBD. We will finish by 1PM. Please be on time or call Martin's cell phone below, as the front desk is not typically covered on Saturdays and you may not be able to get in otherwise.
Gateway Contact: Martin Ortiz - 512-762-8280
Other Notes: Although we do not work directly with the children, they may be nearby while we work. Helping Hand Home asks that all volunteers dress modestly. Please only wear long (close to the knee) shorts or jeans and no tank tops or spaghetti straps. Thanks!!
